Vertex Discoveries has developed prototype devices that emit ultraviolet C (UVC) light, with clear commercial potential in dental care to improve oral health. Currently, our focus is on improving endodontic treatment, though our technology has broader dental applications.
We have demonstrated that UVC LED treatment not only kills harmful microorganisms quickly, but treatment also stimulates local cells to release healing biomolecules. Our research shows these stimulated molecules help reduce inflammation, help reduce pain, and stimulate treated tissue to regenerate and heal.
